Verse 2 Allah, the Eternal Refuge.

Verse 3 He neither begets nor is born,

Second Sura - « The Creation »

Verse 1 Indeed, your Lord is Allah , who created the heavens and earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne. He covers the night with the day, [another night] chasing it rapidly; and [He created] the sun, the moon, and the stars, subjected by His command. Unquestionably, His is the creation and the command; blessed is Allah , Lord of the worlds.

Verse 2 Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?

Verse 3 And the heaven We constructed with strength, and indeed, We are [its] expander.

Verse 4 Say, "Do you indeed disbelieve in He who created the earth in two days and attribute to Him equals? That is the Lord of the worlds."

Verse 5 And He placed on the earth firmly set mountains over its surface, and He blessed it and determined therein its [creatures'] sustenance in four days without distinction - for [the information] of those who ask.

Verse 6 Then He directed Himself to the heaven while it was smoke and said to it and to the earth, "Come [into being], willingly or by compulsion." They said, "We have come willingly."

Verse 7 Do you not consider how Allah has created seven heavens in layers

Verse 8 And We have created above you seven layered heavens, and never have We been of [Our] creation unaware.

Verse 9 And He completed them as seven heavens within two days and inspired in each heaven its command. And We adorned the nearest heaven with lamps and as protection. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.

Verse 10 Indeed, We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment of stars

Verse 11 Have they not looked at the heaven above them - how We structured it and adorned it and [how] it has no rifts?

Verse 12 And the earth - We spread it out and cast therein firmly set mountains and made grow therein [something] of every beautiful kind,

Verse 13 Giving insight and a reminder for every servant who turns [to Allah ].

Verse 14 And We have sent down blessed rain from the sky and made grow thereby gardens and grain from the harvest

Verse 15 And lofty palm trees having fruit arranged in layers -

Verse 16 As provision for the servants, and We have given life thereby to a dead land. Thus is the resurrection.

Verse 17 And it is He who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy until, when they have carried heavy rainclouds, We drive them to a dead land and We send down rain therein and bring forth thereby [some] of all the fruits. Thus will We bring forth the dead; perhaps you may be reminded.

Verse 18 Do they not look into the realm of the heavens and the earth and everything that Allah has created and [think] that perhaps their appointed time has come near? So in what statement hereafter will they believe?

Verse 19 And a sign for them is the dead earth. We have brought it to life and brought forth from it grain, and from it they eat.

Verse 20 And We placed therein gardens of palm trees and grapevines and caused to burst forth therefrom some springs -

Verse 21 That they may eat of His fruit. And their hands have not produced it, so will they not be grateful?

Verse 22 Exalted is He who created all pairs - from what the earth grows and from themselves and from that which they do not know.

Verse 23 And a sign for them is the night. We remove from it [the light of] day, so they are [left] in darkness.

Verse 24 And the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.

Verse 25 And the moon - We have determined for it phases, until it returns [appearing] like the old date stalk.

Verse 26 It is not allowable for the sun to reach the moon, nor does the night overtake the day, but each, in an orbit, is swimming.

Verse 27 O mankind, remember the favor of Allah upon you. Is there any creator other than Allah who provides for you from the heaven and earth? There is no deity except Him, so how are you deluded?

Third Sura - « The Human »

Verse 1 Does man not consider that We created him from a [mere] sperm-drop - then at once he is a clear adversary?

Verse 2 And he presents for Us an example and forgets his [own] creation. He says, "Who will give life to bones while they are disintegrated?"

Verse 3 Dis : Say, "He will give them life who produced them the first time; and He is, of all creation, Knowing."

Verse 4 [It is] He who made for you from the green tree, fire, and then from it you ignite.

Verse 5 Is not He who created the heavens and the earth Able to create the likes of them? Yes, [it is so]; and He is the Knowing Creator.

Verse 6 And Allah created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop; then He made you mates. And no female conceives nor does she give birth except with His knowledge. And no aged person is granted [additional] life nor is his lifespan lessened but that it is in a register. Indeed, that for Allah is easy.

Verse 7 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery.

Verse 8 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire.

Verse 9 And the disbeliever says, "When I have died, am I going to be brought forth alive?"

Verse 10 Does man not remember that We created him before, while he was nothing?

Verse 11 Recite in the name of your Lord who created -

Verse 12 Created man from a clinging substance.

Verse 13 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous -

Verse 14 Who taught by the pen -

Verse 15 Taught man that which he knew not.

Verse 16 Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he.

Verse 17 From what substance did He create him?

Verse 18 From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him;

Verse 19 Then He eased the way for him;

Verse 20 Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him.

Verse 21 Then when He wills, He will resurrect him.

Verse 22 : Does man think that he will be left neglected?

Verse 23 Had he not been a sperm from semen emitted?

Verse 24 Then he was a clinging clot, and [ Allah ] created [his form] and proportioned [him]

Verse 25 And made of him two mates, the male and the female.

Verse 26 Is not that [Creator] Able to give life to the dead?

Fourth Sura - « The Animals »

Verse 1 Do they not see that We have created for them from what Our hands have made, grazing livestock, and [then] they are their owners?

Verse 2 And We have tamed them for them, so some of them they ride, and some of them they eat.

Verse 3 And for them therein are [other] benefits and drinks, so will they not be grateful?

Verse 4 And there is no creature on [or within] the earth or bird that flies with its wings except [that they are] communities like you. We have not neglected in the Register a thing. Then unto their Lord they will be gathered.

Verse 5 And the camels and cattle We have appointed for you as among the symbols of Allah ; for you therein is good. So mention the name of Allah upon them when lined up [for sacrifice]; and when they are [lifeless] on their sides, then eat from them and feed the needy and the beggar. Thus have We subjected them to you that you may be grateful.

Verse 6 Their meat will not reach Allah, nor will their blood, but what reaches Him is piety from you. Thus have We subjected them to you that you may glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and give good tidings to the doers of good.

Verse 7 And the grazing livestock He has created for you; in them is warmth and [numerous] benefits, and from them you eat.

Verse 8 And for you in them is [the enjoyment of] beauty when you bring them in [for the evening] and when you send them out [to pasture].

Verse 9 And they carry your loads to a land you could not have reached except with difficulty to yourselves. Indeed, your Lord is Kind and Merciful.

Verse 10 And indeed, for you in grazing livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from what is in their bellies - between excretion and blood - pure milk, palatable to drinkers.

Verse 11 And [He created] the horses, mules and donkeys for you to ride and [as] adornment. And He creates that which you do not know.

Verse 12 By the racers, panting,

Verse 13 And the producers of sparks [when] striking

Verse 14 And the chargers at dawn,

Verse 15 And your Lord inspired to the bee, "Take for yourself among the mountains, houses, and among the trees and [in] that which they construct.

Verse 16 Then eat from all the fruits and follow the ways of your Lord laid down [for you]." There emerges from their bellies a drink, varying in colors, in which there is healing for people. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who give thought.

Verse 17 Do they not see the birds controlled in the atmosphere of the sky? None holds them up except Allah. Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe.

Verse 18 And [mention] when Moses said to his servant, "I will not cease [traveling] until I reach the junction of the two seas or continue for a long period."

Verse 19 But when they reached the junction between them, they forgot their fish, and it took its course into the sea, slipping away.

Verse 20 So when they had passed beyond it, [Moses] said to his boy, "Bring us our morning meal. We have certainly suffered in this, our journey, [much] fatigue."

Verse 21 He said, "Did you see when we retired to the rock? Indeed, I forgot [there] the fish. And none made me forget it except Satan - that I should mention it. And it took its course into the sea amazingly".

Verse 22 And [recall] when Moses said to his people, "Indeed, Allah commands you to slaughter a cow." They said, "Do you take us in ridicule?" He said, "I seek refuge in Allah from being among the ignorant."

Verse 23 They said, "Call upon your Lord to make clear to us what it is." [Moses] said, "[ Allah ] says, 'It is a cow which is neither old nor virgin, but median between that,' so do what you are commanded."

Verse 24 They said, "Call upon your Lord to show us what is her color." He said, "He says, 'It is a yellow cow, bright in color - pleasing to the observers.' "

Verse 25 They said, "Call upon your Lord to make clear to us what it is. Indeed, [all] cows look alike to us. And indeed we, if Allah wills, will be guided."

Verse 26 He said, "He says, 'It is a cow neither trained to plow the earth nor to irrigate the field, one free from fault with no spot upon her.' " They said, "Now you have come with the truth." So they slaughtered her, but they could hardly do it.

Verse 27 And [recall] when you slew a man and disputed over it, but Allah was to bring out that which you were concealing.

Verse 28 So, We said, "Strike the slain man with part of it." Thus does Allah bring the dead to life, and He shows you His signs that you might reason.

Fifth Sura - « People of the Book »

Verse 1 Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered prophet, whom they find written in what they have of the Book of Virtues, who enjoins upon them what is right and forbids them what is wrong and makes lawful for them the good things and prohibits for them the evil and relieves them of their burden and the shackles which were upon them. So they who have believed in him, honored him, supported him and followed the light which was sent down with him - it is those who will be the successful.

Verse 2 So if you are in doubt, about that which We have revealed to you, then ask those who have been reading the Scripture before you. The truth has certainly come to you from your Lord, so never be among the doubters.

Verse 3 And if only they upheld [the law of] the Book of Virtues, and what has been revealed to them from their Lord, they would have consumed [provision] from above them and from beneath their feet. Among them are a moderate community, but many of them - evil is that which they do.

Verse 4 Say, "O People of the Scripture, you are [standing] on nothing until you uphold [the law of] the Book of Virtues, and what has been revealed to you from your Lord." And that which has been revealed to you from your Lord will surely increase many of them in transgression and disbelief. So do not grieve over the disbelieving people.

Verse 5 Indeed, Those who have followed the path of Aristotle - those [among them] who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness - will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.

Verse 6 Those to whom We gave the Scripture before it - they are believers in it.

Verse 7 And when it is recited to them, they say, "We have believed in it; indeed, it is the truth from our Lord. Indeed we were, [even] before it, Averroists [submitting to Allah ]."

Verse 8 Those will be given their reward twice for what they patiently endured and [because] they avert evil through good, and from what We have provided them they spend.

Verse 9 And do not argue with the People of the Scripture except in a way that is best, except for those who commit injustice among them, and say, "We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you. And our God and your God is one; and we are Averroist [in submission] to Him."

Verse 10 And thus We have sent down to you Kitab al-Kutub. And those to whom We [previously] gave the Scripture believe in it. And among these are those who believe in it. And none reject Our verses except the disbelievers.

Verse 11 And you did not recite before it any scripture, nor did you inscribe one with your right hand. Otherwise the falsifiers would have had [cause for] doubt.

Verse 12 Rather, Kitab al-Kutub is distinct verses [preserved] within the breasts of those who have been given knowledge. And none reject Our verses except the wrongdoers.

Sixth Sura - « The Family »

Verse 1 Do not make [as equal] with Allah another deity and [thereby] become censured and forsaken.

Verse 2 And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], "uff," and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word.

Verse 3 And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, "My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small."

Verse 4 And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination.

Verse 5 But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindness and follow the way of those who turn back to Me [in repentance]. Then to Me will be your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do.

Seventh Sura - « The Pleasures »

Verse 1 Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds - the Most Merciful will appoint for them affection.

Verse 2 And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquillity in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.

Verse 3 And those who say, "Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous."

Verse 4 And do not marry polytheistic women until they believe. And a believing slave woman is better than a polytheist, even though she might please you. And do not marry polytheistic men [to your women] until they believe. And a believing slave is better than a polytheist, even though he might please you. Those invite [you] to the Fire, but Allah invites to Paradise and to forgiveness, by His permission. And He makes clear His verses to the people that perhaps they may remember.

Verse 5 And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided. And remember the favor of Allah upon you - when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favor, brothers. And you were on the edge of a pit of the Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus does Allah make clear to you His verses that you may be guided.

Verse 6 And let there be [arising] from you a nation inviting to [all that is] good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong, and those will be the successful.

Verse 7 The believers are but brothers, so make settlement between your brothers. And fear Allah that you may receive mercy.

Verse 8 O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.

Verse 9 You will not find a people who believe in Allah and the Last Day having affection for those who oppose Allah and His Messenger, even if they were their fathers or their sons or their brothers or their kindred. Those - He has decreed within their hearts faith and supported them with spirit from Him. And We will admit them to gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally. Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him - those are the party of Allah. Unquestionably, the party of Allah - they are the successful.

Verse 10 And [there is a share for] those who came after them, saying, "Our Lord, forgive us and our brothers who preceded us in faith and put not in our hearts [any] resentment toward those who have believed. Our Lord, indeed You are Kind and Merciful."

Eighth Sura - « The Sins »

Verse 1 And Allah wants to lighten for you [your difficulties]; and mankind was created weak.

Verse 2 And establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night. Indeed, good deeds do away with misdeeds. That is a reminder for those who remember.

Verse 3 But those who deny Our verses are deaf and dumb within darknesses. Whomever Allah wills - He leaves astray; and whomever He wills - He puts him on a straight path.

Verse 4 Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills. And he who associates others with Allah has certainly fabricated a tremendous sin.

Verse 5 Indeed, those who have believed then disbelieved, then believed, then disbelieved, and then increased in disbelief - never will Allah forgive them, nor will He guide them to a way.

Verse 6 Indeed, those who disbelieved and averted [people] from the path of Allah and then died while they were disbelievers - never will Allah forgive them.

Verse 7 But whoever kills a believer intentionally - his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him and has cursed him and has prepared for him a great punishment.

Verse 8 And they followed [instead] what the devils had recited during the reign of Solomon. It was not Solomon who disbelieved, but the devils disbelieved, teaching people magic and that which was revealed to the two angels at Babylon, Harut and Marut. But the two angels do not teach anyone unless they say, "We are a trial, so do not disbelieve [by practicing magic]." And [yet] they learn from them that by which they cause separation between a man and his wife. But they do not harm anyone through it except by permission of Allah. And the people learn what harms them and does not benefit them. But the Children of Israel certainly knew that whoever purchased the magic would not have in the Hereafter any share. And wretched is that for which they sold themselves, if they only knew.

Verse 9 But there came after them successors who neglected prayer and pursued desires; so they are going to meet evil -

Verse 10 Except those who repent, believe and do righteousness; for those will enter Paradise and will not be wronged at all.

Verse 11 [As for] the thief, the male and the female, amputate their hands in recompense for what they committed as a deterrent [punishment] from Allah . And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.

Verse 12 Indeed, Allah defends those who have believed. Indeed, Allah does not like everyone treacherous and ungrateful.

Verse 13 Woe to those who give less [than due],

Verse 14 Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full.

Verse 15 But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss.

Verse 16 Those who avoid the major sins and immoralities, only [committing] slight ones. Indeed, your Lord is vast in forgiveness. He was most knowing of you when He produced you from the earth and when you were fetuses in the wombs of your mothers. So do not claim yourselves to be pure; He is most knowing of who fears Him.

Verse 17 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness.

Verse 18 O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them; nor let women ridicule [other] women; perhaps they may be better than them. And do not insult one another and do not call each other by [offensive] nicknames. Wretched is the name of disobedience after [one's] faith. And whoever does not repent - then it is those who are the wrongdoers.

Verse 19 O you who have believed, avoid much [negative] assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin. And do not spy or backbite each other. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his brother when dead? You would detest it. And fear Allah ; indeed, Allah is Accepting of repentance and Merciful.

Ninth Sura - « The War »

Verse 1 Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture - [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled.

Verse 2 And kill them wherever you overtake them and expel them from wherever they have expelled you, and fitnah is worse than killing. And do not fight them at al-Masjid al- Haram until they fight you there. But if they fight you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers.

Verse 3 And if they cease, then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

Verse 4 Fight them until there is no [more] fitnah and [until] worship is [acknowledged to be] for Allah . But if they cease, then there is to be no aggression except against the oppressors.

Verse 5 Fighting has been enjoined upon you while it is hateful to you. But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not.

Verse 6 Not equal are those believers remaining [at home] - other than the disabled - and the mujahideen, [who strive and fight] in the cause of Allah with their wealth and their lives. Allah has preferred the mujahideen through their wealth and their lives over those who remain [behind], by degrees. And to both Allah has promised the best [reward]. But Allah has preferred the mujahideen over those who remain [behind] with a great reward -

Verse 7 Degrees [of high position] from Him and forgiveness and mercy. And Allah is ever Forgiving and Merciful.

Verse 8 So when you meet those who disbelieve [in battle], strike [their] necks until, when you have inflicted slaughter upon them, then secure their bonds, and either [confer] favor afterwards or ransom [them] until the war lays down its burdens. That [is the command]. And if Allah had willed, He could have taken vengeance upon them [Himself], but [He ordered armed struggle] to test some of you by means of others. And those who are killed in the cause of Allah - never will He waste their deeds.

Verse 9 He will guide them and amend their condition

Verse 10 And admit them to Paradise, which He has made known to them.

Verse 11 O you who have believed, if you support Allah , He will support you and plant firmly your feet.

Tenth Sura - « Judgement Day »

Verse 1 It will be only one shout, and at once they will be observing.

Verse 2 They will say, "O woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense."

Verse 3 [They will be told], "This is the Day of Judgement which you used to deny."

Verse 4 [The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds, and what they used to worship

Verse 5 Other than Allah , and guide them to the path of Hellfire

Verse 6 And stop them; indeed, they are to be questioned."

Verse 7 [They will be asked], "What is [wrong] with you? Why do you not help each other?"

Verse 8 But they, that Day, are in surrender.

Verse 9 And they will approach one another blaming each other.

Verse 10 They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right."

Verse 11 The oppressors will say, "Rather, you [yourselves] were not believers,

Verse 12 And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people.

Verse 13 So the word of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment].

Verse 14 And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators."

Verse 15 So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment.

Verse 16 Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals.

Verse 17 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs,

Verse 18 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good.

Verse 19 They used to sleep but little of the night,

Verse 20 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness,

Verse 21 And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived.

Verse 22 And when the word befalls them, We will bring forth for them a creature from the earth speaking to them, [saying] that the people were, of Our verses, not certain [in faith].

Eleventh Sura - « The Paradise »

Verse 1 And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and a garden as wide as the heavens and earth, prepared for the righteous

Verse 2 But those who feared their Lord will be driven to Paradise in groups until, when they reach it while its gates have been opened and its keepers say, "Peace be upon you; you have become pure; so enter it to abide eternally therein," [they will enter].

Verse 3 They will not be grieved by the greatest terror, and the angels will meet them, [saying], "This is your Day which you have been promised"

Verse 4 Gardens of perpetual residence; they will enter them with whoever were righteous among their fathers, their spouses and their descendants. And the angels will enter upon them from every gate, [saying],

Verse 5 And when you look there [in Paradise], you will see pleasure and great dominion.

Verse 6 Upon the inhabitants will be green garments of fine silk and brocade. And they will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a purifying drink.

Verse 7 [And it will be said], "Indeed, this is for you a reward, and your effort has been appreciated."

Verse 8 Race toward forgiveness from your Lord and a Garden whose width is like the width of the heavens and earth, prepared for those who believed in Allah and His messengers. That is the bounty of Allah which He gives to whom He wills, and Allah is the possessor of great bounty.

Verse 9 Is the description of Paradise, which the righteous are promised, wherein are rivers of water unaltered, rivers of milk the taste of which never changes, rivers of wine delicious to those who drink, and rivers of purified honey, in which they will have from all [kinds of] fruits and forgiveness from their Lord, like [that of] those who abide eternally in the Fire and are given to drink scalding water that will sever their intestines?

Verse 10 Indeed, We have granted you, abundance.

Verse 11 So pray to your Lord and sacrifice [to Him alone].

Verse 12 Indeed, your enemy is the one cut off.

Twelfth Sura - « The Hell »

Verse 1 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait

Verse 2 For the transgressors, a place of return,

Verse 3 In which they will remain for ages [unending].

Verse 4 They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink

Verse 5 Except scalding water and [foul] purulence -

Verse 6 An appropriate recompense.

Verse 7 Indeed, they were not expecting an account

Verse 8 And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial.

Verse 9 But all things We have enumerated in writing.

Verse 10 "So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment."

Verse 11 And indeed, Hell is the promised place for them all.

Verse 12 It has seven gates; for every gate is of them a portion designated."

Verse 13 And those who disbelieved will be driven to Hell in groups until, when they reach it, its gates are opened and its keepers will say, "Did there not come to you messengers from yourselves, reciting to you the verses of your Lord and warning you of the meeting of this Day of yours?" They will say, "Yes, but the word of punishment has come into effect upon the disbelievers.
